Happy October!

Hard to believe today is October 1st!

October, November & December are my favorite months of the entire year. I just love the sights and scents of fall and the holidays to follow. We are still having summer weather here in Texas and I am longing for home where the air is crisp and the leaves are a palette of colors.

To console my homesickness I found a few Autumn photos on Flickr; here are a few of my favorites:

The covered bridges remind me of one of my favorite movies; The Bridges of Madison County.

This movie makes me want to live in a simpler time, a simpler place. I can only imagine how beautiful the bridges must be in Autumn.

Bittersweet October. The mellow, messy, leaf-kicking, perfect pause between the opposing miseries of summer and winter.
