Signs of Spring

One thing about living in the south Spring comes earlier than in most parts of the country. The trees are starting to bud and flowers are peeking out from their long winter nap.

On this lovely, sunny, spring like day the kids rode their scooters and I played with my camera, soaked up the sun beams and painted flowerpots. Nothing like lazy, Sunday simple bliss.

These little beauties decided to show themselves off for my lens.

I've neglected my painting lately along with all the other hobbies that keep spinning in the back of my mind. This morning I woke up bound and determined to do something creative and off to Walmart I went. I picked up two Terra Cotta flowerpots for a buck each and proceeded to pull out my paints and brushes. I painted the outside of the pots "coastal blue" since I miss the beach so much. I can think G, H & N for this lovely color. They sent it to me for my birthday :) Thanks girls, I love you!

I went with Wisteria flowers because they are relatively easy to paint and remind me of my Wisteria vines back home. Oh how I miss them! Of course no flower would be complete without dragonflies dancing around them.

This is the finished result. I will never have plain old boring flowerpots again and I love the feeling of accomplishment. Next project, embroidery.

I am so happy it is spring somewhere. Thanks for sharing and warming my spirit with the hope that spring will soon be here!
